Church

And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.   -  Hebrews 10:24-25

Calvary Chapel Nueva Guinea is a ministry that was founded to make disciples of Christ.  Most of the churches in our area do topical bible studies.  We are one of the only churches that teach through the whole scripture.  We study the bible verse by verse and book by book so that we can receive the whole counsel of God.

Our church is small.  Most of the couples that come are younger and have small children.  There are many youth and children who come to the church.  Since Nicaragua is the poorest country in Central America, our church is naturally made up of many low income people and families.  There are, however, a couple university professors and business owners in our congregation.

The service structure is similar to that of many churches in the states.  We begin with prayer and worship.  After worship, we study the word.  Children's ministry is available for each service.  Youth ministry is available on Sunday evenings for youth ages 12 and up.  Both youth ministry and children's ministry are focused on teaching the word of God in an age appropriate manner.

Here in Nueva Guinea there are many churches but not one that teaches verse by verse through the whole bible.  This is something that the town really needs and is one of the reasons why the much of the doctrine is incorrect.  Many are blessed when they hear the verse by verse approach to studying the word.  In doing this, we want the people of Nueva Guinea to have a thorough knowledge of the scriptures and know what the word says.

Our goal here in Nueva Guinea is to make disciples of Christ by teaching them the the truth and exhorting them to obey Christ.  Our church services are broadcast over the radio so that we can reach a broader audience.  We want to reach the whole city and the surrounding regions.

Pray for the church body: the adults, the youth, and the children.  We've seen much spiritual growth in the adults and youth.  Pray that this would continue and that God would bring the increase.
